The view from my old house, which have just concluded moving from - it took over 4 months. Now I am moved to a very nice smaller apartment in town, but after 7 years waaay out the road, I really miss the proximity to the water & forest - walking outside to be surrounded by bird & animal friends, seeing & hearing the whales, & other sea creatures just across the street. This apartment has very nice windows, & view of the water & boat harbor, & the island where the airport is. But the water is about 2 blocks away, & has no deck or outside space for gardening. Now must go other places to photograph the moon without wires crisscrossing the view. I did very much appreciate where I just moved from, except it was so far from town that I tended to just isolate out there. And was sooo big, that never managed to get all the house organized & cleaned at same time. My skiff is still parked out there, & at least eventually have the means for traveling around to other deserted islands, which are still very close by. And have started seeds for herbs; oregano, dill, cilantro & sunflowers, for indoor gardening.
Moving can be quite traumatic, & taking 4 months has been the worst ever! But as with everything, we must take the bitter with the sweet…
